Troubleshooting "This feature is not supported error" in AI Event setup on Speco Blue Recorders

This article reviews an issue that may occur when configuring cameras with firmware 5.1.3.0 and up, on Speco Blue Recorders on firmware 1.4.10 and up.

 

  • This error occurs when you're selecting an AI Event that the camera is not programmed for


  • Under the Enable Event tab, the camera can be set to either a Face Event (left) or Smart Event (right)

  • If the camera is set to Face Event, it can do Facial Detection and Recognition functions
  • If the camera is set to Smart Event, it can do all of the other standard AI Event functions
    • Ex: Line Crossing, Intrusion, Regional Entry/Leave, etc.
  • The camera can only be programmed to do one or the other, not both
    • Make sure the Event Selection in Enable Event corresponds with the type of Analytic you want to use
    • If the Event type is changed, the camera will do a quick power cycle to validate the change
