To reset the password on Speco recorders, follow these steps:
Owner/End User
If you have lost your password, you must contact your Installation Company and/or Authorized Dealer and fill out the Password Reset Request Form to begin the reset process. The Installation Company/Authorized Dealer will verify the installation and approve the device in need of a reset. This process ensures the highest level of security to protect you from unauthorized password resets and tampering.

To initiate a password reset, please follow these steps:
- Complete the Password Reset Form
All parties must complete the Password Reset Request Form.
Methods for Password Reset:
Directly at the unit
- The following recorders can be reset directly at the unit with a monitor and mouse, with assistance from a Speco technician:
- NRX, NRM, NR, NRN, NRL, NRE, NRP, NXL, NXP, NLA, JLA, JWA
- These units can be reset by the owner using a directly at the unit on the back of the recorder.
- CS, LS, GS, CX, LX, PS, JLN, JWN
Accessible online
The following recorders will need to be accessible online to reset the password. Port 80 will need to be forwarded in the router to the local IP address of the unit.
- RS, DS, VS, VT, ZS, NS, HS, HT, HU, NSP, NSL, NSF, NU
