How to configure Intelligent AI on NRX Series Recorders.
This guide will help configure Intelligent Analytics from Speco IP cameras through Speco NRX series recorders.
Enable event is used to enable either facial recognition or other intelligent analytics such as line crossing, intrusion detection, perimeter detection and perimeter exit using the camera resources.
Note: Only one feature can be enabled at a time on each camera. This does not mean these features cannot be used together as the recorder is capable of doing these events as well.
- First, Navigate to the top right corner click on the three horizontal bars and then click settings. Within settings click on "Enable Event" under the "AI Event" section on the left sidebar.
- Next, you will be prompted to choose between Face Event or Smart Event AI analytics with each specific camera. Face event being the man icon on the left and smart event being the head with a chip inside of it on the right.
Choosing Face Event:
- Upon choosing face event, you will now be able to configure facial recognition on connected IP cameras under the "Face Recognition" setting under the "AI Event" section.
- When navigating to the "Face Recognition" setting, you will notice that "Enable Detection by IPC" checkbox is now available. This confirms that the IP Camera will now be able to handle facial recognition using its own resources if desired.
Notice how "Enable Detection by IPC" is now available. It would otherwise say "Enable Detection by NVR" if smart event was selected.
Choosing Smart Event:
- Upon choosing smart event, you will now be able to configure an array of intelligent ai detection methods using the camera resources. These are available under the "AI Event" section by clicking on the "Perimeter Detection" setting.
Notice how "Enable Detection by IPC" is now available. It would otherwise say "Enable Detection by NVR" if face event was selected.
It is typically best advised to use camera resources if possible as recorder resources are usually limited. Please Pay attention to the "AI Resource" value in the upper right corner of the AI event settings to accurately gauge the resource usage of the NVR.
