How to set up Smart Tracking on a PTZ camera

When people or vehicle cross the alarm line, intrude or exit the predefined area, the PTZ camera will automatically track them and the target image will be automatically zoomed in and centered on the screen until the target disappear on screen.

Works on O4P30X2 / O4P25X / O4P25X2 / O4P4X2

**In order to setup Smart Tracking, a connection between a computer and the camera must first be established. For a guide on how to connect to an IP camera from a computer, CLICK HERE.**

Step 1:

  • After logging into the camera, select Config from the top left corner.

  • Chose Event Setup, then Smart Tracking from the menu the appears on the left.
    • Set the Tracking Mode option to PTZ Auto Tracking Priority.
    • The Home position after option determines how much time will need to pass after the camera stops Smart Tracking and returns to the designated home position.
        • CLICK HERE for a guide on how to configure the home position.

Step 2:

  • Click Analytics from the left side menu.
    • Select the Line Crossing or Intrusion option as needed.
  • Once the analytic has been selected, select Enable at the top of the Detection Config page.
    • Put a checkmark in the Trigger Track checkbox.
    • Select Save at the bottom of the page.

Step 3:

  • Using the PTZ control buttons (area①), set the appropriate field of view for the camera.
  • Depending on what event was selected:
    • If Line Crossing was selected, select Draw Area beneath the camera's image. Click and Drag on the image to create a line. Select Stop Draw once the line is created. Next to the image, there will be a Direction option. That option will dictate what direction a person/vehicle will need to be moving for the line to detect it. Anything crossing the line in the desired direction will trigger an event
    • If Intrusion was selected, select Draw Area beneath the camera's image. Click on the image to create a point. Click on the image in another location to create a second point. Up to 6 points can be created. The points will connect and create a shape on the image. The area inside of that shape will be the detection area. Anything entering/exiting that area will trigger an event.
  • Once the desired field of view and area of detection are complete, please select the Lock button next to the PTZ control buttons. That will change it to say Unlock.
    • Selecting the Lock button will lock the manual PTZ controls. The PTZ camera will no longer be able to be manually controlled once the controls are locked, although they can be unlocked again. Locked PTZ controls will allow the Smart Tracking feature to operate.
    • Selecting the Unlock button will unlock the manual PTZ controls. The Smart Tracking feature does not operate while the PTZ controls are unlocked.
  • Select Save once everything has been set.

The PTZ camera is now set up for Smart-Tracking.
