How to set home position for a PTZ camera on a Speco Blue Recorder

This article shows how to set a home position in the recorder's interface rather than the camera's.

Note: This can only be done on recorders running firmware 1.4.12 or newer.

  • First, navigate to Settings > Camera Settings.

  • To set a preset go to the PTZ section and then Preset.
    • Click on the Add button and set a preset number and name.
    • Note: Presets 70-89 can only be used for Home Position.

  • Move the camera to the desired position and select your named preset and hit Save Position

  • Next, navigate to the PTZ section and then to the home position setting

  • Select the desired preset under the name column,

  • Configure wait time and hit Apply at the bottom right.

    • Keep in mind only one home position that can be set per camera channel

Common terms:

Location: Location can be set for the camera to return to an action such as cruise, trace, random scanning or boundary scanning as its home position. For example: setting the location to cruise will always default back to the cruise selected.

Name: Which selected preset the camera will use

Wait time: How long until the camera returns to the home position
