How to Fix broken playback on a SecureGuard Server

This guide will advise on how to repair an issue for when a SecureGuard Server fails to do proper playback.

  • After extended periods of time with little maintenance and events such as power outages, the SecureGuard Server can become out of sync causing issues with playback

  • Issue #1: Recordings filling up past the "Maximum disk space use" value
  • Issue #2: Cannot review playback at server or client
  • Issue #3: Cannot record new data

  • Open the SecureGuard config tool

  • Click Stop at the bottom of the page

  • Go to the Database tab

  • Click Validate
    • Run through the Validation process

  • If Validation succeeds, it will take up to an hour for the storage to fix itself and resume as normal

  • If the Validation fails, restore the database from an older restore point
    • Note: If Schedule Backup is not enabled, then there will be no restore files
    • Under Database Maintenance, click Restore
    • Grab the most recent restore file and load it

  • Make sure the Scheduled Backup box is checked off so back up files are saved weekly
    • Click Apply

  • Navigate back to the System tab
    • Click Manual Start once all the changes have been made
