How to Fix broken playback on a SecureGuard Server
This guide will advise on how to repair an issue for when a SecureGuard Server fails to do proper playback.
- After extended periods of time with little maintenance and events such as power outages, the SecureGuard Server can become out of sync causing issues with playback
- Issue #1: Recordings filling up past the "Maximum disk space use" value
- Issue #2: Cannot review playback at server or client
- Issue #3: Cannot record new data
- Open the SecureGuard config tool
- Click Stop at the bottom of the page
- Go to the Database tab
- Click Validate
- Run through the Validation process
- Run through the Validation process
- If Validation succeeds, it will take up to an hour for the storage to fix itself and resume as normal
- If the Validation fails, restore the database from an older restore point
- Note: If Schedule Backup is not enabled, then there will be no restore files
- Under Database Maintenance, click Restore
- Grab the most recent restore file and load it
- Make sure the Scheduled Backup box is checked off so back up files are saved weekly
- Click Apply
- Click Apply
- Navigate back to the System tab
- Click Manual Start once all the changes have been made
