How to Enable Long-Line Mode on a Speco Blue Recorder

Long-line mode on a network video recorder (NVR) allows the NVR to connect to IP cameras over longer distances, such as across different buildings or campuses.


  • Go to Settings > Network > TCP/IP

  • Then click on Internal Ethernet Port:

  • Here, the option for Long-Line Mode can be enabled

  • After Long-line mode is enabled, the recorder will receive the message that POE network port bandwidth becomes 10M.
    • This smaller bandwidth allows the NVR to connect to IP cameras that are located further away.
    • Disabling Long-line mode will revert the POE network port bandwidth back to 100M (Default bandwidth).
