How to Enable and Use Metasearch in a Speco Blue Recorder

This article shows how to enable and use the Metasearch function in a Speco Blue Recorder


Enabling PicSearch:

  • Before enabling, please make sure the AI Engine is enabled. To verify this, navigate to Intelligent Analytics > Engine Configuration > AI Engine

  • Navigate to Settings>AI Event

  • Next, Navigate to Intelligent Configuration>PicSearch

    • Click the "Enable" checkbox and "Apply"

  • Once enabled, the compatible cameras on the system will be listed


It is recommended to also enable Video Metadata to maximize the results of this feature. A guide for configuring metadata can be found HERE

Using MetaSearch Through Playback/Live View

  • MetaSearch will be available in both live viewing and playback modes. This will be activated with the icon at the top.

  • Click the "MetaSearch" at the top when there is either a person or vehicle on screen.
    • This will reveal a yellow box around the target

  • Next, click on the yellow box surrounding the target. This will bring up another "MetaSearch" icon to prompt a search.

  • Click on the "MetaSearch" icon at the top corner. This will bring up the search interface.
    • Click "Search" and this will bring up any targets within date/time selected.

  • Modifying the "Similarity" slider will adjust the results based on how strict the search will be.
    • For best results use this in conjunction with video metadata.

Using MetaSearch Through the Target Detection Tab

  • MetaSearch is also available through the target detection tab.
  • To use this navigate to the target detection tab and click on the "Three dots" icon

  • Next find the desired target and click on the MetaSearch icon at the bottom 
    • Click on the yellow box surrounding the target and click on the MetaSearch icon on the target

  • Select the desired date, similarity level as well as camera selection and click Search
    • Any targets found within the desired parameters will be shown
