  • First, right click the Live camera screen of the recorder. A menu should appear.
    • Please select Setup from the menu.

  • The Setup menu will appear. On the left side of the setup menu, please select the Network settings icon.
    • Please take note of the IP address and Network Video Port shown on the menu.

  • Opening the Speco Player on a mobile device, the Device List screen should be the first to appear. In the top right corner, a plus (+) symbol will be found. Please select that button.

  • That is the Add Site page. Please insert the following information below:
    • Site - This will be the name of the site. It can be named anything.
    • IP/DNS/MAC - Please insert the IP address as noted above.
    • Port - Please insert the Network Video Port number as noted above.
    • ID & Password - Please insert the username and password of the recorder unit.

    • A connection to the recorder should be established and any cameras connected to the recorder should appear.

If the phone is outside of the local Wi-Fi network that the recorder unit is connected to, the phone will not have a connection to the recorder.

Method #2: Connecting via the DDNS address.

Please note: Establishing a DDNS connection will require port forwarding. Speco is not responsible for port forwarding on the user's network.

  • First, right click the Live camera screen of the recorder. A menu should appear.
    • Please select Setup from the menu.

  • The Setup menu will appear.  On the left side of the setup menu, please select the Network settings icon. This will open the Network Settings page. Please take note of the Network Video Port number.
    • Please click on the select option for the DDNS.

  • That will open the DDNS settings page.
    • Please set Enable DDNS to on
    • Please set ezDDNS to on
      • The other settings do not need to be touched. Please select apply at the bottom when both settings are set to on. Close the Network settings page after selecting apply.

  • Right click the Live camera screen of the recorder. A menu should appear.
    • Please select Advanced Menu and then choose System Information.

  • The System Information page will appear.

  • Opening the Speco Player on a mobile device, the Device List screen should be the first to appear. In the top right corner, a plus (+) symbol will be found. Please select that button.

  • This will open the Add Site page. Please insert the following information below:

    • IP/DNS/MAC - Please insert the DDNS domain name as noted above.
      • When typing the DDNS, be sure to enable the Easy DDNS function to autocomplete the whole DDNS address.
    • Port - Please insert the Network Video Port number as noted above.
    • ID & Password - Please insert the username and password of the recorder unit.
      • Select Save in the top right corner once all information has been inserted.

  • The next page to appear will be the Device List page. Please select the newly added recorder from the list.

  • This will open the connection page to the site. Please select the Connect button at the top of the page.
    • A connection to the recorder should be established and any cameras connected to the recorder should appear.

DDNS typically does not work on the local Wi-Fi network of the unit itself. DDNS would typically only work outside of the local network. Some users do report naturally being able to run DDNS on the local Wi-Fi network. Some networks are capable of a function called "NAT Loopback." NAT Loopback would need to be enabled within the network to connect to DDNS on the local network.
