METHOD #1: Connecting via the IP address.

  • First, access the Setup menu of the Speco Silver Recorder.
    • You may be required to insert the username and password.

  • Once the Setup menu appears, please select the General option under the Network tab.

  • The General Network page is where the IP address information can be gathered. The IP address that the Speco Silver app will use is highlighted in the image below. Please take note of the IP address in the given location.

  • On the left side of the screen, an option for System can be found. Please go to System and open the Information section.
    • Please take note of the first number listed on the Http/Https/RTSP line. That is the HTTP port number of the recorder unit. Please take note of that number.

  • Opening the Speco Silver app on a mobile device, the Live screen should be the first to appear. In the top left corner, there is a Hamburger button (3 Horizontal Lines). Please select that button.

  • That button will open a menu from the left side of the screen. Please select Device List from the menu that appears.

  • This will open a list of every recorder unit connected to the app, if any. This is the Device Manager page. In the top right corner, a + icon can be found. Please press the + icon.
    • Please select IPC/NVR/DVR from the menu that appears.

  • The app will access the phone's camera. Please select Manual Add.

  • The Edit Information page will appear. This is where the information from the recorder that should have been noted will be inserted.
    • Please enter the IP Address that was taken from the General Network settings page into the top line that reads IP Address/ID.
    • The next line underneath will ask for the HTTP web port. HTTP port 80 will be inserted by default. If the HTTP port found on the Information page of the recorder is different, please change 80 in the app to that number seen in the recorder.
    • The next two lines below is the username and password to the recorder unit.
      • Once everything is inserted correctly, select Save at the bottom.

  • The next page to appear will be the Device Manager page. The recorder should be seen on the list.
    • If a connection has been acquired, a green Wi-Fi symbol should be visible on the right side. The play button shown below can now be pressed, and the recorder's cameras should appear.

If the phone is outside of the local Wi-Fi network that the recorder unit is connected to, the phone will not have a connection to the recorder.

DDNS typically does not work on the local Wi-Fi network of the unit itself. DDNS would typically only work outside of the local network. Some users do report naturally being able to run DDNS on the local Wi-Fi network. Some networks are capable of a function called "NAT Loopback." NAT Loopback would need to be enabled within the network to connect to DDNS on the local network.
