How to change User permissions on a Speco Blue Recorder

Blue series recorders allow the ability to customize accessibility to cameras and features. This article is a brief overview of how to change the permissions.


  • Click the Start button > Settings

  • Click Account and Authority



  • At the top of the screen, click Edit Permission Group. 
    • On the right side of the screen, you will see the three groups for account permissions: Administrator, Advanced and Common. 
    • Click the Edit button next to the group you want to change their access
      • Note: Only advanced and common groups can have customizable permissions. 


  • Click the drop down arrow next to that users name and click Edit User.
    • In the Edit User page, click the dropdown next to Group and choose the group you would like them to be in. Click OK to save those changes. 

  • To create a net group, Click the (+) on the top right and create you new group with a name, settings, functions and local/remote permissions.
    • Click Add to save the new group.
