General Troubleshooting - Third Party Cameras

This is a quick check list of things to note when looking to troubleshoot third party cameras on your Speco Recorder.

ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is a standard that allows interoperability between IP-based security products. To enable ONVIF on a third-party camera:

  1. Check Compatibility - Verify that the camera supports ONVIF Profile S or T.
  2. Enable ONVIF in Camera Settings - Log into the camera’s web interface and activate ONVIF support.
  3. Create ONVIF User (If Required) - Some cameras require an ONVIF-specific user account.
  4. Ensure Proper Network Configuration - The camera should be on the same subnet as the recorder.
  5. Add Camera to the Recorder - Use the recorder’s ONVIF discovery tool to detect and connect the camera.
  6. Test Video Feed - Ensure the camera streams properly and adjust settings as needed.

For troubleshooting, check camera settings and ensure the latest firmware is installed. If additional configuration is needed, consult the camera manual or contact the manufacturer.
